The Situation
New Zealand's main library underwent extensive renovations.
The Challenge
The rubber roof system had suffered extensive bird damage so leaked badly. Large podium area also required overlaying.
The Solution
The rubber roof was removed and a layer of Nuraply installed to provide temporary construction waterproofing.
Falls were created using insulation and then a screed poured over the foam. Two layers of Nuraply were laid. The first layer was Nuraply 3PV which allows entrapped moisture to dissipate. The capsheet was Nuraply 3PM in Slate to provide a robust, durable, UV resistant finish.
